SiteSpinner V2 includes advanced page and site specific features under the Page Editor. To edit these features click on the Page Editor icon on the left tool-bar to open the Page Editor dialog.
Page Select tab:
This dialog lets you choose which page you want to edit. Whichever page is currently being displayed in the work-window will be the currently selected page. If you want to change the extension of the html page to something else, you can choose one of many extensions from the drop-down box, or enter an extension of your choosing. You can have the extension apply to all pages. If you are creating a standard website, these features are best left as is.
Title, Meta tags:
Use these dialogs to define how your page is titled and indexed by the search engines. The most important field is the Title - this is what the search engines will index first. For example, if you are selling 'organic tea', be sure that 'organic' and 'tea' are part of your Title. For example: Buy Jon and Joanne's Organic Tea
The Description, Keywords, and Copyright should be filled in also. However, some search engines no longer pay much attention to these fields, opting for the Title and the content of the actual site instead.
Header:
These settings are for advanced users who may wish to add custom information to the 'Head' section of the HTML document. For example, if you have custom Cascading Style Sheet information, or custom JavaScript code, you may be required to add the code to the HEAD section of your HTML page. Click 'New Header' and past in the code.
You may wish to have the page Password protected. By advised that the protection offered by this function is very rudimentary. If you require secure password protection for your page you should talk to your webhost.
Link:
The Links tab is where you define your link colors. Available options are the Unvisited link color, Visited link color, Active link color (the color of the link while it is being clicked), and the Hover link color. With Hover you can define the color of the link while the mouse is over it.
By default all links are underlined. However, you can set links to not be underlined by default. Keep in mind that whichever option you choose, you can set the link colors and underline properties individual in the Link Editor of the Text Editor.
If you would like your page to automatically link to another page after a period of time without your visitor having to click a link, check the 'Redirect to New Location' check box and enter a Link and the amount of time before the page changes.
Special Effects:
SiteSpinner V2 includes a number of special page transitional effects. For example, you can have your page 'fade in' or 'fade out', 'circle in' or 'circle out'. These special fx can be annoying to your visitors if they are over used. However, coupled with other features they can create unique effects. For example, you can create an interesting slide-show of your pictures by placing them on individual pages, enabling the auto-link feature (under the Links tab), and then have the pages use one of the Special Transition effects. The result is an auto-slide show. Experiment and see what you can create.
Center your pages with a single Click. The 'Center Page Horizontal' function automatically centers your page to the browser work-window. This is one of the more advanced features available in SiteSpinner V2. To create a centered page, first make sure that the blue Guide Border is enabled (top toolbar) and then design your page within its boundaries. Check the 'Center Page Horizontal' box and when a visitor comes to your page, regardless of how wide or narrow their browser is set, your page will always be centered.
Music:
If you want to add music to your page, simply select the file here. This will embed the music as part of the page. If you would rather the visitor to your site is given to opportunity to control the music through a visible audio player, use the Foreign Object Editor .
Background:
This is where you define the background of your page. For a standard HTML page you can use an image and have it placed once on the page or have it tiled to fit the content of your page. If you want a solid color, you can pick it here.
Radial, Cylinder, and Linear for background colors are only available when Publishing your page as to SVG.
